As stated in the title, you can now delete files with WildEyes!
I have restricted the location to delete files to /var/mobile for security reason. I may make this configurable in the future.
Since version 2.22, users have reported crashes which I have not been able to replicate. I thought I fixed cause of the crash in 2.3, but apparently it isn’t. So if you have problem with WildEyes!, take a look at the post before this to send me a crash report. Read more

So I’m putting up this tutorial so users can send me their crash report. This tutorial can also be applied for to all applications.
1) Install syslogd, logMailer, and Syslog BossPrefs Toggle (Make sure you have BossPrefs as well

2) Launch BossPrefs and turn on syslogd

3) Launch the application with problem. And repeat your steps to get the crash
4) After the application crashes, launch LogMailer and press send report. Send the report to the developer’s email. Developers’ email account can usually be obtain in Cydia for each applications.

Send files from your iPhone/iPod with WildEyes! 2.20 beta feature

In the previous post, I forgot to annouce a beta feature in WildEyes! 2.20, which is the attachment of files to email. The feature depends on the mailto: attachment plugin available in Cydia. Since I forgot this feature, I also forgot to inform modmyi admin about it, so you will need to update your WildEyes! to 2.20-2 to be able to send file as attachment.
This function is still a beta function because not all files can be attached. I have not figured out why, so if you think you observed a repeatable pattern, please do inform me about it.
You can also download WildEyes! from sosiphone.com (French website). A French version for WildEyes! is currently under development. Read more

WildEyes! Is finally working on 2.x. WildEyes! is a browser to view or play files in your device. There are some major improvement in this update.
- No longer dependant on LightTPD and Safari
- View docs (such as Word documents, PDF, Powerpoint, Excel, plain text etc
- View images
- Play media (video and sound)
- Opens up to the last browsed location
- Shake to toggle showing of hidden files
WildEyes! has to be completedly rewritten for 2.0, so you might see some missing features. I’ll build them up again. Drop me an email if any of those particular features are top on your priority list.
Note that there should be a file size limit of 10MB, just like Safari.
I’ll format the screenshots properly later. Only just downloaded the WordPress app on iPhone while commuting on a train. Can really do much formatting, but it’s better than Safari crashing once in while and I lose my unsaved posts

Here are steps on how to backup and restore files in Chronus
- SSH into your iPhone/iPod Touch and copy the files from /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/TimeCapsule into your computer
- Connect your iPhone/iPod Touch to your iTunes and do a sync with full backup before proceeding with your firmware upgrade
- After successfully updating your firmware, iTunes should prompt you to restore files from backup.
- After restoring with iTunes, launch Cydia and install Chronus
- Launch Chronus and check if the backups you made before your firmware upgrade are there
- If you are lucky, you will be able to see the backup files
- If you don’t see the files, you will have to SSH into your iPhone/iPod Touch and copy over the files to the same location (make sure permission is set to 777)
